Ege Bölgesi

Ege Bölgesi, kuzeyde Marmara, doğuda İç Anadolu, güneyde Akdeniz bölgesi ve batıda da Ege Denizi ile çevrilidir. En uzun kıyı şeridine sahip olan bölge adını Ege Denizi’nden alır. Bölgede turizm, tarım, liman ticareti ve sanayi faaliyetleri yapılır.

Hem deniz turizmi hem de kültür ve tarih turizmi yapılan bölge bir çok uygarlığa ev sahipliği yapmış, günümüz bilim ve felsefenin temeli burada atılmıştır. Bu yüzden u bölgede bir çok antik kent ve müze bulunur.

Çoğunlukla Akdeniz İklimini gösteren bölgede içlere doğru karasal iklim de görülmektedir. Her mevsim ılıman olan iklimi sayesinde tarıma oldukça elverişli olan bu bölgede zeytin, üzüm, buğday, arpa, incir, tütün, turunçgiller gibi bir çok çeşitli ürünler yetişir.

Çeşitli tarım ürünlerinin yetişmesi Ege mutfağına da yansımış ve sebze ağırlıklı özellikle zeytinyağının çok büyük öneme sahip olduğu yemekler ön plana çıkmıştır. Hafif ve sağlıklı bir diyette kullanılması tavsiye edilen zeytinyağı bölge halkının uzun ve sağlıklı yaşamının sırrı olarak görülür.
