Diyarbakir
One of the bridges between Mesopotamia and Anatolia is Diyarbakır. This city that dates back to 12000 years before, has the oldest village in the world. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it has the longest walls in the world after the Great Wall of China.
Hittites, Assyrians, Urartians, Medes, Persians, Romans, Sassanids, Byzantines, Abbasids, Seljuks, Mongols and Ottomans have ruled of this city and all of them have left a trail, brought their own culture to the city.

Being located on important trade routes developed trade in this city and accordingly there are structures such as Hasan Pasha Inn, Suluklu Inn, Cifte Inn and Deliler Inn.
Located on the banks of the Tigris River, the city owes its life energy and fertile soil to this river. Thanks to the river, the agricultural products brought to life in the trade life. The Ten Eyed Bridge on this river and the Hevsel Gardens by the river are among the tourist attractions.
The culinary culture of Diyarbakır, where thousands of years of different nations have lived together, has been influenced by these cultures. Lamb, sumac, rice and butter are used in most dishes. In addition, the watermelon of Diyarbakir is very famous.
